What an exciting new year is ahead of us!  Mona and I recently returned from checking up on our ministry in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  It was such a blessing to be able to see many of the children and adults that we love so much.  It's amazing how much the kids have grown!  It was also exciting to see many new faces in the soup kitchens as well.

Things are going really well in the two established soup kitchens.  I say two established because we took a huge step of faith and started a third soup kitchen!  For quite some time it's been on our heart to start a work with Pastor Galo, a wonderful young man who served as our primary translator the last year that we lived there.  Galo has already started his soup kitchen, but with a little different twist.  He has 30 elderly very poor adults in his church that have basically nothing.  So he is feeding 30 kids one day a week, and the 30 elderly one day a week.  Galo and his family are tremendous workers for the Kingdom of God, and we are thrilled to be working with him.

As I mentioned in the above paragraph, it was a huge step of faith to begin this new kitchen, and we can certainly use your help.  This year we are beginning a campaign called 1 of a 100.  We are looking for 100 new supporters who can give 10 dollars a month or 100 dollars a year.  Imagine that; you can help support a child with a hot meal for around 30 cents a day.  Most people throw more than that out of their pockets every evening when they get home.  Would you prayerfully consider doing that and inviting 10 of your friends or family members to do the same?  Together we can make an incredible difference in the life of a child.

May God richly bless you in this New Year.
